Dr Teodor Murgelas
(GDC no. 76745) Principal Dentist, Facial Aesthetics, General Dentistry
Originally from Sweden, Dr Murgelas graduated from Gothenburg University with a Degree in Dentistry (DDS) and has been practicing in the UK since 1998. His special interests are restorative dentistry for which he holds a Certified Implant Diploma from UCL Eastman Dental Institute (2005).
Dr Murgelas’s other special interest area is facial aesthetics and rejuvenation. Dr Murgelas completed his training for this at the renowned Professor Bob Khanna Institute, which is endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons and Kings College, London.
Mr. Assif Ahmed
(GDC no. 80970) Specialist in Prosthodontics
Assif graduated from the Royal London Hospital. After completing vocational training, he gained experience as a Senior House officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. During that time, he successfully gained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Assif entered specialist training in Prosthodontics at Guys Dental Hospital where he completed a Masters in Clinical dentistry with his research area focusing on tooth wear and the effects of acids in the oral cavity. It was during this period, that he was also selected by the International College of Prosthodontics for their mentoring program as one of the leading young Prosthodontists internationally.
During his career, Assif has been fortunate to be personally taught by some of the best clinicians both nationally and internationally.
Mr Geoff Allan
(GDC no. 43336) Specialist in Oral Surgery, Restorative Dentistry BDS Glasg 1969, FDS RCPS Glasg 1973, MSc Lon, MRD 1994.
Geoff qualified in dentistry from Glasgow Universities in 1969. He obtained a surgical fellowship (FDS RCPS) in 1973 and is an MSc in conservative dentistry, University of London. He held postgraduate hospital appointments at Glasgow Dental Hospital, Canniesburn & Stobhill Hospitals, Glasgow, up to Senior Registrar Grade and he was the first appointed Restorative Consultant in England, at Guy’s Hospital in 1977.
During this time he spent much time treating cleft palate cases and was joint author of ‘Treatment of the Cleft Palate Patient’. He was an examiner for RCPS Glas (1969-74) and RCS London (1976-77). He moved to private practice in 1979, and continues to practise at Devonshire Place two days a week.
He specialises in routine restorative dentistry; management of inter-related specialties combining fixed and removable prosthodontics and periodontology; implant surgery including tissue augmentation; and construction of fixed and removable implant related prosthetics.
Mr Nick Lewis
(GDC no. 79415) Specialist in Endodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry
BDS(Hons.), MSc, MFDS RCS Edin., FDS (Rest Dent) RCS Eng. Mr Lewis qualified with Honours at Newcastle and undertook junior hospital posts at Newcastle Dental Hospital within the departments of Restorative Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Child Dental Health, as well as working in general dental practice in the North East. He then moved to University College Hospital in 2003 and undertook his higher specialist training in restorative dentistry, including a Masters in Conservative Dentistry. He completed his intercollegiate specialty fellowship in Restorative Dentistry in 2008 and was appointed as a Consultant at UCLH in 2009.
Mr Lewis has a sub-specialty interest in head, neck and oral rehabilitation including the assessment and management of head and neck oncology patients and severe dental trauma as a result of an accident. This includes the overall dental management for head and neck cancer patients both before and after cancer treatment and as part of their overall oral rehabilitation including the placement and restoration of dental implants and the provision of intra-oral and extra-oral prosthesis for oro-facial defects
Mr Lewis also serves as the course director for the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (FGDP) Diploma in Restorative Dentistry at Royal College of Surgeons of England and also sits on the council of the Odontology section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
As a consultant in Restorative dentistry, Mr Lewis has placed and restored in the region of 2,000 implants to date.
Mr Nikolaos Tatarakis
(GDC no. 215633) Specialist in Periodontics
DipDS, Cert (Perio), MS (USA) Clinical Research Fellow at the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London
Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology
Dr Tatarakis trained at the University of Athens, and qualified as a dentist in 2005. He worked as an associate in a Periodontal specialist practice and in the Oral Medicine clinic of Andreas Syngros Hospital. In 2008, following his military service as a dentist in the Greek Air Force, he was admitted to the University of Michigan, USA where he completed a comprehensive three-year specialty program in Periodontology obtaining a Certificate and a Master’s degree.
In 2011, Dr Tatarakis received a prestigious clinical and research scholarship by the International Team for Implantology and spent one year at the Unit of Periodontology of the Eastman Dental Institute in London for this purpose. In the meantime, he completed the necessary examinations and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Between the years 2012-2016, he held Clinical Teaching and Research Associate positions at the Eastman Dental Institute, supervising graduate students and conducting clinical research. He is currently a staff member of the newly founded Centre for Oral Clinical Research of the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. Nikolas holds memberships of professional and educational associations in the area of periodontics and implants and lectures and publishes in these fields. His main research interests include diagnostics and management of peri-implant diseases.
Ms Keshari Leelasena
(GDC no. 69692) Specialist in Endodontics
Ms Leelasena qualified BDS with Distinction from Kings College, London in 1993. After completing one years vocational training, then two years as a Senior House Officer in Restorative Dentistry followed by Maxillofacial Surgery, she enrolled into a two-year Masters Degree course in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London. Ms Leelasena passed her Msc in Endodontics with Distinction in 1998. She has focused her practice to Endodontics since 1997 and gained entry onto the Specialist List for Endodontics in 2001.
Ms Leelasena has worked as a referral Endodontist since 1997 for several NHS Trusts and also established two private endodontic referral practices. She receives referrals from General Practice, Community and Hospital Services. Ms Leelasena is also a member of the Langham and British Endodontic Societies and was on the database of Expert Witnesses for the Dental Defence Union between 2005 and 2010.
Endodontics deals with the management of infection from the dental pulp or in layman’s terms root canal treatment. With modern technology, knowledge of the latest treatment principles and a high level of patient care, Ms Leelasena routinely achieves excellent clinical results for her patients.
(GDC no. 6729) Dental Hygienist & Therapist
Health Psychologist MSc, MBPsS Tara Taheri began her career in dentistry in 2000. Prior to this, she obtained a Child Psychology degree and then spent 10 years at home raising her children.
In 2001, Tara undertook the Oral Health Education Course at the Eastman Dental Hospital and studied Dental Radiology at Hertfordshire University in 2002. She embarked Dental Hygiene Course at Guy’s and King’s Hospital in 2003.
In September 2009, she started an MSc Course in Health Psychology at City University and graduated in April 2012 with a Merit Award.
Tara’s MSc Research Thesis was a topic related to the prevention of Gum Disease, Improvement of Oral Health and General Health by applying practical Psychological Strategies.
In 2012, she enrolled at Kings Hospital in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for Adults with Dental Fear and Anxiety. This course enabled her to encourage patients to identify their unhelpful thoughts and Behaviours regarding General and Oral Health and helps them develop more useful ways of thinking.
A dental hygiene appointment with Tara focuses on providing patients with advice that supports general health through the promotion of optimal oral health.
Tara has undertaken extensive research into ‘Psychological interventions to improve adherence to oral hygiene instructions in adults’, she was shortlisted in the ‘Best Dental Innovation’ category at the 2012 Dental Hygiene & Therapy Awards for this research, which was later published in the Annual Clinical Journal of Dental Health in December 2013.

Terza qualified from University of Essex in 2011, since then she has been working in Private dental practices. During her work Terza has seen a variety of patients from different backgrounds, ages and needs; including special needs patients. This has helped her to gain a range of experiences in her career as a Dental Hygienist. She takes pride in delivering the best of care for patients and can put even the most nervous patients at ease.
Terza is very passionate about her job and it makes her feel happy to put a smile on the faces of her patients and leave the practice satisfied with our services.
At the Devonshire place Dental Practice, she enjoys educating and advising patients on the importance of maintaining their teeth and gums as this is the key factor in helping her patients to maintain their oral health.

Danuta achieved a Master’s Degree in Slavic languages at Silesian University, Poland. Danuta started her career by working in the pharmaceutical industry which allowed her to develop a good understanding of medicine, specifically in allergology, pneumunology, diabetology and orthopaedics.
After settling in the UK, Danuta pursued a career in dentistry, initially as a Dental Nurse and then qualifying as a Dental Hygienist in 2013. Dental Recruit Network Professional achievements include: Outstanding Contribution 2013, Outstanding Achievement 2014, Dental Nurse of the Month – January 2013, Lifetime Achievement Award 2012, Dental Hygienist of the Month – July 2016.
Danuta has worked with Mr Geoff Allan as his Dental Assistant since Jan 2013 and prides herself on offering a holistic approach, ensuring patient satisfaction and wellbeing are the priority. Danuta is equally enthusiastic to her profession and to travelling and exploring new destinations.
Stacey began her training to become a dental nurse in 2015, qualifying in 2017. Having trained at a Specialist Orthodontic practice, Stacey is a skilled nurse and has joined the team at 35DP to further advance her knowledge of specialist treatments.
Stacey has also completed a customer service qualification, NVQ Level 3, and is passionate about providing the best possible care for her patients and prides herself at being able to put nervous patients at ease. With her friendly and positive approach, Stacey is a welcome addition to our team.

Head Nurse Sade joined the Practice in January 2013 having moved to London after getting married. Sade qualified as a Dental nurse in 2008 and has extensive nursing experience. Sade. Prior to joining Devonshire Place, she worked as an on-site manager for Smile Lounge LTD and was quickly promoted within 6 months to an Area manager. Born in Kent, Sade is fluent in English and Punjabi. Sade is currently on maternity leave.

Dornay is from Namibia and has been a resident in the UK since 2003. She is a qualified and very skilled Dental Nurse in all aspects of dentistry. She has progressed in her career over the years and also has Diplomas in Business Administration, Management and Customer Service.
Dornay has extensive Practice Management and treatment co-ordination experience and is motivated by providing the very best experience for our patients. Dornay welcomes any feedback from patients to ensure we continue to offer the very best level of service.
Tara has over 10 years’ experience as a Dental Receptionist, having worked in both NHS and Private practices. Tara joined Devonshire Place Dental Practice in 2015 and prides herself on her professional but sympathetic approach and excellent customer service. Tara enjoys offering help and support to patients throughout their dental treatment.
